Painting Preparation Method
Exterior Preparation Method:
- Remove all dirt, dust and debris under eaves stucco or siding by pressure washing.
- Remove any mildew, rust or efflorescent use bleach if necessary.
- The foreman and crew will inspect and survey the entire house to determine exactly what kind of preparation and organizing to start and complete the job best.
- The crew will cover, remove and protect anything near the house not getting painted as plants, cars, furniture, floors, etc.
- The crew will be protecting plants against the house; pruning small bushes by customer request only.
- The foreman will determine if specially primer will be requested for best results. Full sand and spot prime are standard.
- Peeling gutters, downspouts will be scrape, sand and prime with proper products (standard to all jobs).
- Old and new gutters will be fully sanded and prime for better adhesion.
- Hooks, nails, will be remove from eaves, fascia's and siding. (Hooks for decoration ask customer).
- Scrape, remove all loose and peeling paint from fascia's, wood trim, siding, stucco fill sand and prime as needed.
- All doors will be sanded, holes fill and prime as needed.
- If stucco or foundation goes below the dirt, will be trenched several inches down to cover old color or color change.
- All cracks in the stucco will be fill with stucco patch (elastomeric).
- The crew will check for rust water damage and leaks seal and prime as needed.
- The crew will be caulking any openings around wood casings, windows, doors and fascia's (standard).
- Mask off all fixtures (or remove) if requested by customer.
- Mask off openings around house to prevent overspray and paint splatters.
- Cover all floors with plastic and canvas plants with light sheets.
Interior Preparation Method:
- Mask off and protect floors with paper.
- Protect furniture with plastic.
- Fill all holes and repair all cracks.
- Full sand and prepare wall and ceilings.
- Prime damage areas and new drywall.
- Prime new wood or repaired.
- Paint all wall and ceilings.
- Prepare and paint all wood trim.
- Prepare and enamel doors.
- Clean up everything at the end of the day.
- Specialty primers will be used for any specific areas.
